Practices are a part of our daily lives here at Seven Stones. Some of them that we use help us to slow down in the face of today’s fast and busy world. So, today while on Facebook I decided to use one of our practices, the practice of pausing: stopping, slowing down, or pausing between tasks, between moments to be with the moment or to listen and notice.

I decided to pause as I searched and read what my comrades from college, family, or the pages I find inspiring where up to. I will say I was pleasantly surprised to find a few quotes that touched, moved and inspired me. I realize more and more when I practice pausing, no matter what activity I am engaged in, miracles present themselves.

Here they are. My hope for you is that you will take what you love and leave the rest.

“What if our religion was each other
If our practice was our life
If prayer, our words
What if the temple was the Earth
If forests were our church
If holy water the rivers, lakes, and ocean
What if meditation was our relationships
If the teacher was life If wisdom was self-knowledge
If love was the center of our being.”
~Ganga White

Once you realize that the road is the goal and that you are always on the road, not to reach a goal, but to enjoy its beauty and its wisdom, life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an ecstasy. ~ Nisargadatta Maharaj
